Panasonic AG-CX10
Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Panasonic manual.
Which light is flashing?
- Charging lamp flashing with about a 4 second period (2 sec on, 2 sec off): Battery is very cold, very hot, or deeply discharged. The battery can still be charged in this state, just more slowly than normal.
- Charging lamp flashing fast, about every 0.5 seconds: Battery is not charging. Something is stopping the charge, often dirty terminals or extreme temperature.
- Charging lamp off: Charging has finished, or there may be a fault. The lamp turns off when charging is done. If it was off before charging finished, something may be wrong.
- Card access lamp flashing orange: The memory card is being read or written to. Data is actively moving to or from the card right now.
- Tally lamp flashing: Battery level is low. The tally lamp flashes to warn you the battery is running low.
Common problems
The battery won't charge
- Is the charging lamp flashing fast, about twice a second? Remove the battery, make sure the terminals are clean, and try charging again.
- Is the battery or the room extremely hot or cold? Wait until the temperature returns to a normal range, then try charging again.
- Has the running time become very short even after a full charge? The battery has worn out over time and needs to be replaced.
- Still not charging after checking the above? There may be a fault in the main unit, the battery, or the AC adaptor.
Picture or sound is distorted or has interference
- Is the unit near a TV, microwave, or cell phone? Electromagnetic waves from these devices can disrupt the picture and sound.
- Is the unit near radio transmitters or high-voltage lines? Move away from these; they can affect the recorded picture and sound.
- Did the unit stop working properly because of interference? Turn the unit off, remove the battery or disconnect the AC adaptor, then reconnect and turn it back on.
The lens, viewfinder, or LCD monitor is fogged up
- Did you just move the unit between a cold and warm place? A sudden change in temperature or humidity causes condensation inside the unit.
- Are you about to move the unit to a different temperature? Let the unit sit and adjust to the new room temperature for about an hour first.
- Has condensation already formed? Remove the battery and the AC adaptor and leave the unit alone for about an hour until it clears naturally.
The date and time have reset
- Has the unit been unused for a long time? The built-in clock battery runs down and the date resets if it is left too long.
- Want to recharge the built-in clock battery? Connect the AC adaptor or attach a battery; the setting is then kept for about 6 months.
- After recharging, do you need to set the clock again? Set the date and time again once the built-in battery has been recharged.
