Which light is flashing or on?
- LED (21) flashing: Water tank missing or empty. The tank is not in place, or the water level is too low.
- LED (22) on: No coffee beans. The bean container is at or below the minimum level.
- LED (23) on: Grounds container full. The used coffee grounds container needs emptying.
- LED (23) flashing: Grounds container or drip tray missing. The grounds container or internal drip tray is missing or not fitted correctly.
- LED (24) flashing: Door open or brewing group missing. The access door is open or the brewing group is not fitted correctly.
- LED (24) on: Brewing group needs cleaning. The brewing group, its housing or the compartment around it needs a clean.
- LED (25) on: Descaling recommended. Scale has built up and a descaling cycle is strongly advised.
- LED (25) flashing: Descaling mandatory. The machine is blocked and will not dispense until it is descaled.
- All buttons flash simultaneously: Hydraulic circuit error. The machine detected a fault in the water circuit and tries to reset itself.
- Two beeps, both button LEDs turn off: General machine fault. The machine has detected a fault it cannot fix on its own.
Common problems
The machine won't turn on
- Is the plug connected? Connect the plug to the power outlet.
- Is the plug fully pushed in? Fully connect the plug to the machine.
- Did you press the ON/OFF button? Press the button to start the machine.
- Still nothing after pressing the button? The button itself may be faulty, so contact an authorised service centre.
It's on but won't make a drink
- Is LED 21 on (tank alarm)? Make sure the tank is correctly assembled or fill with water, or rinse to remove scale residue.
- Is LED 22 on (no coffee alarm)? Pour coffee beans into the container.
- Is LED 23 steady (grounds container full)? Empty the grounds container with the machine switched on.
- Is LED 24 flashing (brewing group alarm)? Make sure the brewing group is correctly assembled and the door is closed.
The machine stops while making a drink
- Was the tank removed, or is the water low? Make sure the tank is correctly assembled or fill it with water.
- Was the side door opened during dispensing? Close the side door again.
- Is LED 21 off but water still seems missing? Scale inside the tank can give a wrong reading. Clean the tank thoroughly and run a descaling cycle if needed.
- Did water get poured into the tank gap instead of the tank? Remove the tank and thoroughly dry its compartment.
The coffee is cold, weak or too slow
- Were the cups pre-heated? Heat the cups by rinsing them with hot water first.
- Is the coffee weak with little cream? The grind may be too coarse. Turn the knob counter-clockwise to tighten the grinders while they are running.
- Did the machine run out of beans mid-brew? Fill the bean container and dispense coffee again.
- Is the coffee coming out slowly or in drips? The grind may be too fine. Turn the knob clockwise to loosen the grinders, or clean the dispenser if it is clogged.
