Miele Complete C3 PowerLine

Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Miele manual.

What does the indicator light show?

Common problems

The vacuum shuts off on its own

  1. Is something blocking the suction hose? Turn off and unplug the vacuum, then check the hose for an object stuck inside it.
  2. Are the filter bag pores clogged with fine dust? Fine dust such as drill dust or flour can block the bag's pores and cause overheating. Replace the bag.
  3. Is the exhaust or dust compartment filter heavily soiled? A very dirty filter can also cause the vacuum to overheat and switch off.
  4. Let the vacuum cool down Once you have fixed the cause, let the vacuum cool before using it again.

Suction power seems weak

  1. Is the filter bag full? Attach the standard floor brush, switch to the highest power level, and lift the brush slightly off the floor to check the airflow window.
  2. Have fine particles clogged the bag's pores? Drill dust, sand, plaster or flour can block the bag even if it isn't full of normal dust.
  3. Is the exhaust filter indicator fully red? A worn-out exhaust filter reduces suction power and filter performance even though the vacuum still runs.
  4. Is the floor brush hard to push across carpet? This can also happen with normal use on thick carpet. Lower the suction power setting.

The dust compartment lid won't close

  1. Did you insert a filter bag? The lid is designed to stay open if there is no filter bag in the holder.
  2. Is the filter bag caught in the lid? Reposition the bag fully in the blue holder before closing the lid again.
  3. Don't force the lid shut Forcing it can damage the lid or the bag holder.

The floor brush is hard to push

  1. Lower the suction power Press the minus foot switch to reduce power, which makes the floor brush easier to move.
  2. Open the auxiliary air regulator This briefly reduces suction so the brush doesn't stick to textile flooring.
  3. Check if the floor needs the bristles raised For floors with deep joints or gaps, keep the bristles raised rather than lowered.
