Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Electrolux manual.
What does the display show?
- E40: Door is not closed. The dryer will not start and beeps because the door is open or not latched.
- End: Drying program finished. The cycle is complete and the display shows this text.
- Clean Filter LED blinking: Time to clean the lint filter. This light turns on at the end of every cycle to remind you to clean the filter.
- Cooling progress indicator LED blinking: Cooling cycle in progress. The heater has switched off and the dryer is cooling the clothes before the end of the program.
- Anti crease indicator blinking: Anti crease cycle in progress. The dryer tumbles the load periodically after drying ends to stop creases forming.
- LOC: Child Lock turned on. The controls are locked so the dryer cannot be changed by accident.
- unL: Child Lock turned off. The controls are now unlocked and can be used normally.
- SEt: Setup Mode entered. This shows when you hold Dry Mode and Start/Pause to change hidden settings.
- InVE: Inverted mounting setting selected. This appears in Setup Mode when you are choosing Normal or Inverted display orientation.
- bUZZ: Buzzer setting selected. This appears in Setup Mode when you are choosing whether sounds play.
Common problems
The dryer won't start
- Is the plug firmly in the socket and the power turned on? Check the plug is pushed in fully and the power point is switched on.
- Is the door fully closed? The dryer will not start unless the door is closed and the safety switch button is pushed in.
- Has a fuse blown? Test the power point with another appliance to see if it is working.
Clothes come out still wet
- Did you pick a long enough drying time? Choose a longer time setting if the load is still damp at the end.
- Is the room cold? You may need a longer time if the room is 10 degrees C or less.
- Is the lint filter blocked? A blocked filter restricts airflow and stops clothes drying properly.
Clothes dry unevenly
- Are you using the Cupboard program on a mixed load? Differences in fabric texture and thickness can mean not every item dries at the same rate.
- Have you tried a different program? Switch to Extra Dry or a Timer program, but watch delicate fabrics so they do not overdry.
- Are you following the garment care labels? Always dry items the way the label on the garment says.
The Clean Filter light stays on
- Has the cycle just finished? This light turns on and blinks at the end of every cycle as a normal reminder, not a fault.
- Have you cleaned the lint filter? The filter must be cleaned after every load.
- Did the filter click back into place? Make sure you hear a click when you refit the filter, and fit it the correct way round.
