Common problems

The cooktop won't turn on

  1. Is it connected and switched on at the wall? Check the power connection and the wall switch.
  2. Is there a power outage in your home or area? Check if the power is out more widely before assuming a fault.
  3. Still won't turn on after checking everything? If it still does not turn on, contact service for help.

A pan won't heat up

  1. Is your pan suitable for induction? Test it with a magnet on the base; if the magnet grips firmly all over, the pan works on induction.
  2. Is the pan the right size and centred on the zone? A pan that is too small or off to one side will not be detected.
  3. Is the heat setting flashing instead of staying on? A flashing setting means no heating is happening until a suitable pan is in place.
  4. Has it been 10 minutes with no pan detected? After 10 minutes with no suitable pan, the cooktop switches that zone off by itself.

The touch controls won't respond, or keep beeping

  1. Are the controls locked? Touch and hold the keylock control to unlock them.
  2. Is there water on the controls, or are you using your fingertip? Dry the control area and use the ball of your finger, not the tip.
  3. Has liquid spilled onto the touch control area? Switch off at the wall, dry the controls, then switch back on.
  4. Is an object on the controls, or is someone resting a hand on them? Clear anything sitting on or touching the control panel.

The glass top is getting scratched

  1. Are you using cookware with rough or jagged edges? Switch to cookware with flat, smooth bases.
  2. Are you using an abrasive scourer or cleaner? Harsh scourers or cleaning agents can scratch the glass.

Clean everyday soiling off the glass

  1. Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.

  3. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
  4. Switch the power to the cooktop back on at the wall.

Remove a boilover or sugary spill

  1. Scrape up the spill right away with a scraper made for ceramic glass cooktops.
  2. Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.
  3. Hold the blade at a 30 degree angle and scrape the spill to a cool area of the cooktop.
  4. Clean up the soiling with a dish cloth or paper towel.
  5. Finish by cleaning the area as you would everyday soiling.

  2. Soak up the spill.
  3. Wipe the touch control area with a clean damp sponge or cloth.
