Answers and step-by-step fixes from the official Fisher & Paykel manual.
Which light or indicator is showing?
- Rinse aid plug glows bright red: Rinse aid is running low. The indicator on the rinse aid plug turns red when the dispenser needs refilling.
- Keylock/Childlock indicator lit: Keylock or childlock is on. All the buttons are disabled while this indicator is lit.
- Drawer indicator red: This drawer is on and selected. A red drawer indicator means that drawer is currently chosen for the controls you press.
- Drawer indicator white: This drawer is on but not selected. A white drawer indicator means that drawer is powered on but the controls are pointed at the other drawer.
- Delayed start indicator lit: Delay start is set. The wash for that drawer will begin once the delay time runs out, as long as the drawer stays closed.
- Drawer indicator flashing: The wash is paused. Pressing Start again during a wash pauses it and makes the drawer indicator flash.
- Intermittent beeping after pause: Drawer has been paused too long. If a paused wash is not restarted within 7 minutes, the dishwasher beeps on and off until you restart it.
- Display shows 0: Wash program has finished. The display shows 0 and the dishwasher beeps when the program ends, then the display goes out after 30 seconds.
Common problems
Dishes come out dirty or not fully washed
- Are the dishes overcrowded or nesting? A crowded drawer or dishes nesting together reduces how well they get cleaned.
- Is water reaching every item? Make sure dishware is not blocking water from reaching other items on the racks.
- Are the spray arms blocked? Check that nothing is stopping the spray arms from rotating freely.
- Did you use the right kind of detergent? Only powdered detergent goes in the dispenser. Liquid detergent or tablets must not be placed there.
Dishes are wet, streaky, or there is too much foam
- Are dishes wet or streaky after the wash? This usually means the rinse aid setting is too low.
- Is there excess foam after a wash? This usually means the rinse aid setting is too high.
- Is the rinse aid dispenser empty? Check the plug indicator. If it glows bright red, the dispenser needs refilling.
The drawer won't open after a wash
- Did you wait for the beep sequence? The drawer locks shut during the cycle. Wait for 3 short and one long beep before trying to open it.
- Is Childlock turned on? Childlock locks the drawer and disables all buttons until it is cancelled.
The dishwasher is making unusual noises
- Are both drawers draining at the same time? This is normal and can cause extra noise at the end of a wash.
- Is the drying fan running after the wash? The fan may keep running after the program finishes to help with drying, and uses very little energy.
