Multi-Language Support Now Live
Voice genies now handle calls in 30+ languages with automatic detection. Serve every caller in their preferred language without extra setup.
Your voice genies now speak your callers’ language. Literally.
Starting today, every voice genie on Help Genie can handle calls in 30+ languages with automatic language detection. A caller starts speaking Spanish, the genie responds in Spanish. Someone calls in French, the genie switches to French. No buttons to press, no separate phone numbers, no extra configuration.
What’s New
Multi-language support brings three capabilities to your voice genies:
- Automatic language detection that identifies the caller’s language within the first few seconds of conversation
- Real-time language switching so the genie responds naturally in the detected language throughout the entire call
- Translated call summaries that always appear in your dashboard in English (or your preferred language), regardless of what language the call happened in
We launched with support for 32 languages including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Hindi, German, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Dutch, and Vietnamese. The full list is in your genie settings under the new “Languages” tab.
Why We Built It
About 40% of Help Genie customers serve communities where English isn’t the only language spoken. We heard from dental offices in Miami, plumbing companies in Houston, property managers in Los Angeles, and auto dealerships in Toronto. They all had the same problem: callers who preferred another language would either hang up or struggle through an English conversation.
One property manager told us: “Half my tenants speak Spanish as their first language. When they call about a maintenance issue, I need them to be able to describe the problem clearly. That doesn’t always happen in their second language.”
Building this wasn’t just about translation. We needed the genie to understand context, idioms, and industry-specific terms across languages. A caller saying “se me rompio la tuberia” (my pipe broke) in Spanish needs to trigger the same emergency routing as “my pipe burst” in English.

How It Works
Setting up multi-language support takes about two minutes:
- Open your genie settings and navigate to the new “Languages” tab
- Select your supported languages from the list of 32 available options, or turn on “Auto-detect all” to support every language automatically
- Review your genie’s knowledge base to confirm your FAQs and business info are available for translation (the genie translates on the fly, but having key terms defined helps accuracy)
- Test with a sample call using the built-in call simulator, which now includes a language selector
The genie handles everything else. It detects the language, responds appropriately, captures all the same data it would in English (name, phone, reason for calling), and logs the call summary in your preferred dashboard language.
A few things to know:
- Language detection happens in the first 5-10 seconds of the call. The genie may start in your default language and then switch once it detects the caller’s preference.
- Call routing, appointment booking, and lead capture all work identically across languages. A Spanish-speaking caller booking an appointment sees the same available time slots as an English-speaking caller.
- Your genie’s personality and tone carry over across languages. If your genie is friendly and casual in English, it’ll be friendly and casual in Spanish too.
Who Benefits Most
Multi-language support is valuable for any business in a multilingual community, but we’re seeing the biggest impact in:
- Healthcare and dental practices serving diverse patient populations who need to describe symptoms accurately
- Property management companies with multilingual tenant bases who call about maintenance, leasing, and payments
- Home services businesses (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) in metro areas where service calls come in multiple languages
- Hospitality businesses like hotels and event venues that serve international guests
- Auto dealerships and marine dealers in border regions or tourist destinations
What’s Next
We’re working on a few enhancements to make multi-language support even more powerful:
- Language-specific greetings so the genie opens in the most common language for your area
- Bilingual call handling for conversations that mix languages naturally
- Language analytics showing you a breakdown of call volume by language
Multi-language support is available now on all plans at no extra cost. Configure your languages in the dashboard or see how voice genies work across industries.
